Can You Use Google Nest WiFi With Spectrum

Do you just bought the Google Nest WiFi and Want to know whether Nest WiFi is compatible with Spectrum Internet? In this article, I will let you know if Google Nest WiFi With Spectrum works or not and whether you should buy it.

Spectrum is a famous networking company. They have tons of services available which include television, the internet as well as telephone services.

I have been started using the Spectrum Internet for a few months now and I have recently bought the New Google Nest WiFi to expand the internet connectivity in my home as I live inside a very big condo.

Though if you are already a Spectrum user you might know that Spectrum provides its subscriber a modem and router. And since the router is free of charge or provided at a very minimal charge in some cases it does not provide that expanded coverage in a large house.

And to overcome this issue you need to have WiFi extenders and hence I thought of using the Google Nest WiFi as I liked the Specification of this WiFi extender.

Will Google Nest WiFi Works With Spectrum or Is it Compatible?

The Google Nest Wifi is compatible with Spectrum internet service. If you’re using a Spectrum modem-router combo, make sure it’s in bridge mode before connecting it to the Google Nest Wi-Fi network.

In contrast, with a separate Spectrum modem and router, you can simply replace the existing Spectrum router with the Google Nest Wi-Fi and connect it to the modem to complete the installation.

Before setting up I made my existing spectrum router in the bridge mode from the router settings page. You can find the bridge Mode under the LAN settings check by logging into the router IP address from chrome.

Follow the below steps to change the settings to Bridge mode if you are not aware of it.

  • Connect the LAN port of your computer to the Ethernet port of your gateway router.
  • On the wireless network, you can also connect to your gateway.
  • Make sure that the router is plugged in and operational.
  • Enter the router’s IP address in the address bar of your browser to access the router’s setup page. The most common default gateway addresses for routers are: 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1
  • Log in to your gateway router using your preferred username and password combination.
  • Contact Spectrum customer service to find out the router’s default username and password.
  • It’s time to turn off these devices. Routing, Wireless, DHCP, Firewall.
  • There are a variety of alternatives to choose from based on the brand and model of router that you have.
  • Change the NAT mode to Bridged in the LAN Settings.
  • When you’re done, reboot the router.
