There can be various issues that can affect the connection between Honeywell Thermostat and Google Home devices.

One day I suggested my friend get a Google Home device so that he can connect it to his thermostat and can easily operate it using the voice commands using the Google Assistant.

The day he bought the Google Home device and started to connect the thermostat he kept on getting errors that said: “Something Went Wrong. Please try Later.”. He was frustrated for an hour and called me for help.

Since I rarely got this error I suggested him few troubleshooting methods that can help him fix these issues and later that day he found out that Honeywell Server issues were there and it got fixed after a few hours automatically.

But it cannot be always because of the server issues and you can try another method that I am going to list down below that you can use to get the Honeywell Thermostat Not Connecting With Google Home issue fixed.

Before that, if you are completely new read our guide on how to connect Google Home to Honeywell Thermostat and make sure you follow all the steps properly if you are doing it for the first time.

1. Resetting the Linked Services on Honeywell Home App

The first thing that you can try is to reset the Linked Service on the Honeywell Home App if you are using it on your smartphone or Tablet. You can follow the below steps to get the Linked Service reset properly.

  • In the upper left corner of the Honeywell Home app, click on the menu. Then, scroll down until you see “Linked Services.”
  • If you see Google, don’t link it to your account.
  • It’s time to get rid of both of these apps: Honeywell Home and Google Home by uninstalling them.
  • The first thing you should do is install and Log in to Honeywell Home.
  • Then, go and install Google Home and Log Into it as well.
  • Add rooms to Honeywell Home and link it to Google Home.
  • Say, “Sync all my devices” on your Google Home speaker.

Using the above steps you can easily reset Both Apps i.e. Google Home and Honeywell Home App. Once the reset has been completed you should see that your Thermostat is connected to the Google Home device.

If you are still getting the issue then you can try the below method and continue troubleshooting the devices.

2. Make Sure that Honeywell Server is Responding

Yes, this issue is pretty pertinent to the connection between Thermostat and Google Home Device. If you have tried the above method and still getting the same error then the possible issue can be the server of Honeywell.

There can be a day when Honeywell sets its server down for scheduled maintenance and it cannot sync the new devices for a few hours until the server is down.

2. Make Sure that Honeywell Server is Responding

So, you make sure you visit the Honeywell Support page to check if there is a notification on the server or scheduled Maintainance, else you can visit the official Honeywell Twitter page for Thermostat where they can provide the information on the server if it is down.

3. Contact Customer Service Of Both Honeywell and Google

If you tried the above two methods and still couldn’t connect the thermostat and Google Home devices. In my opinion, you should connect with Honeywell after you have completed all the reset of the Honeywell Home app and Google Home App.

Honeywell Customer service will not provide any support on troubleshooting the Google application and hence you need to take care that you connect with Google Support parallel if you want to fix this issue without any confusion.
